Invest in a New HVAC System
One of the best ways to save money is by installing a new HVAC system. While each HVAC system is different, they can last up to 25 years. If you haven’t purchased an HVAC system in 25 years, it may be time to consider upgrading your system. HVAC systems get more and more energy efficient over time, which helps you save money on utility costs. If you’re in need of a new system, the technicians at River View Heating & Cooling are here to help. We use top of the line products that we know help keep homes cool in the summer and warm in the winter. With the technology these systems provide to homes, it will help you save money.
Schedule Regular HVAC Appointments
If your HVAC system is newer and working just fine, you don’t necessarily need to upgrade your system. However, what you can do is make sure your system continues to work fine. If you notice there’s a problem with your system, you’ll want to have it taken care of so it doesn’t affect your comfort levels. With the Daikin Comfort products, you don’t have to worry about costly repairs to your system as the products have a long warranty compared to other HVAC products.
Install a Smart Thermostat
Another way to save money is by installing a smart thermostat. A thermostat is a device that monitors the temperature of your home and makes sure the temperature is where you’ve set it for optimal comfort. At River View Heating & Cooling, we can help by installing a smart thermostat from Daikin Comfort. Typically, smart thermostats keep temperatures in your home much lower than other types of thermostats, which helps you save money by not having your system constantly run when no one is around.
Set Your System to Efficient Temperatures
In addition to buying a smart thermostat, you also want to set your home to efficient temperatures.
- In the winter, set your thermostat to 68 degrees while you’re home and lower the temperature when you’re away. Overnight, lower it slightly, but it doesn’t have to be the same temperature as when no one is home.
- In the summer, set your thermostat to 78 degrees. If you aren’t in your home during the day, you can even turn off your system entirely.
While it’s great to set your system to efficient temperatures, you also want to remain comfortable. The temperatures above are suggestions, so set your system to what ever makes you most comfortable. If you’re unsure of the different recommendations, a smart thermostat can help.
